MV Mermaid 1
28 meter steel vessel built in 2002. The Mermaid liveaboard has 8 air con cabins each with bathroom facilities (hot and cold water) accommodating a maximum of 15 guests.
The Mermaid liveaboard in Thailand offers a flexible schedule which is broken down in to 3 stages.
The 1st stage of the cruise departs from Phuket diving in the Simian Islands and Surin ending in Ranong in Thailand, just across the border from Burma 4 days/nights later. You can either return to Phuket from Ranong or take the 2nd leg of the cruise.
The 2nd leg of the cruise departs from Ranong for 5 days diving in the Mergui Archipalego in Burma returning to Ranong. You can either return to Phuket by land or take the 3rd leg of the cruise.
The 3rd leg of the cruise is 4 days diving in Thailand’s Andaman Sea between Ranong and Phuket diving in the Simian Islands, Surin and Phuket.
So, if you take all 3 stages, you have 13 days/nights scuba diving in Thailand and Burma.
All cabins are to the side of the boat offering magnigicent ocean views and fresh air if you choose to open the windows. Standard cabins offer sea views and fresh air but have smaller windows. The main deck cabins are at water level so boat movement is felt less.
The Mermaid has a large air con saloon on the top deck which, like all of the boat, is tastefully decorated and has a teak finish. Behind the saloon is a comfortable open lounge area with a sofa which is covered by a roof. You can work on your tan on the sun deck towards the front of the boat.
The dive deck and platform is well planned and spacious so you can comfortably prepare for your diving. The dive deck is at water level and has steel ladders to aid you getting in and out of the water.
The Mermaid
liveaboard offers full enriched air and Nitrox. Should you require a Nitrox
course, these are offered on board. The boat boats a new camera handling area
making it much easier for photographers to care for equipment.
